What are Peptides?
Peptides are naturally occurring molecules that are composed of amino acids. These molecules can be found in many substances, including proteins, enzymes, hormones, and even in some of the products we use in our daily lives. They play a crucial role in the body by helping to regulate biological processes, such as metabolism, cell growth, and immunity.

Recently at Southeast Regional Med Spa, we have decided to launch a new category in our wellness department, known as “peptide therapy”.
Many know about the peptide “semaglutide”, the weight loss shot that has helped improve weight loss results in patients, but also has helped improve their overall health. Upon further research on peptides, we decided to dive deeper into all of the benefits they provide. There are many peptides to choose from that help with a wide variety of things ranging from: weight loss, insomnia, building lean muscle mass, healing injuries acutely or chronically, tanning the skin, and much more. Because attempting to digest the amount of peptide information available can be overwhelming, we have decided to start with a bit of information below to give our patients information on how they work, benefits, and how to give or take each of the different types of peptides.

Weight loss and Increased muscle mass
CJC 1295 acts in the pituitary gland to maximize levels of growth hormone in the body. Increased volume of human growth hormone (hGh) production in the pituitary gland supports increased production of insulin-like growth factor (IFG-1) by the liver and results in multiple health benefits.
CHC 1295 is a tetrasubstituted 29-amino acid peptide hormone, primarily functioning as a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) analog. CJC 1295 outperforms the older and outdated GHRH, Sermorelin. The half-life of Sermorelin ranges from 8-12 minutes, whereas the half-life of CJC 1295 extends to 30 minutes. Sermorelin’s efficacy decreases with time and the body produces antibodies to Sermorelin, bioconjugate with serum albumin, thus increasing its half-life and potential therapeutic window. It accomplishes this by using protecting groups around the amino acids of GHRH typically susceptible to enzymatic degradation, thus increasing the half-life. Consequently CJC 1295 without DAC is designed to provide a GHRH- like stimulation, (28 minutes instead of 8-12 of sermorelin), maintaining the natural pulsatile stimulation of the pituitary without decreasing secretion as observed in CJC with DAC.
Benefits: increases lean muscle mass and increases bone density. Improves performance and recovery.
Take at bedtime – also benefits sleep and mood
Ipamorelin acetate is a 3rd generation GHRP that is selective agonist of the ghrelin/Growth hormone secretagogue receptor.
Benefits: in conjunction with CJC 1295, this peptide helps to increase lean body mass and lower body fat. It also has anti-aging benefits as well as supporting improved sleep and memory, and also helps to regulate cortisol release.
The combination of CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin Acetate improves strength of GH pulse and increases number of GH secreting cells (somatotrophs). The combination improves growth hormone levels with minimal effects on prolactin.
Clinicians report that using CJC 1295 + Ipamorelin concurrently results in improved weight loss and maintenance of muscle mass. Energy levels also improve using this combination.

Pentadecapeptide BPC 157, composed of 15 amino acids, is a partial sequence of body protection compound (BPC) that is discovered in and isolated from human gastric juice. Experimentally, it has been demonstrated to accelerate the healing of many different wounds, including tendon-to-bone healing and superior healing of damaged ligaments.
Helps heal tissues
- Reported to improve cell survival under oxidative stress
- Increased fibroblast migration and dispersal
- Induces F-actin formation in fibroblasts
- Improves angiogenesis
- Enhances vascular expression of VEGFR2
- BPC 157 increases the extent of phosphorylation of paxillin and FAK proteins without affecting the amounts produced.
Can be used for:
deep skin burns, corneal injuries, injured muscle, tendon, ligament or bone injuries.
- Improves nerve regeneration
- Decreases neuroinflammation
- May help in depression
- Ameliorates alcohol withdrawal symptoms and opposes alcohol intoxication.
- May help regulate blood pressure
- Nitric oxide improvement
- Oral: 500mcg – 1.5 mg daily x 30 days OR
- 1mg troche sublingually QD x 30d
